Proform has just updated their Indoor Cycle lineup to include two new higher end models (the Proform 490 SPX and the Proform 590 SPX). The good news is that Proform now offers more spin bikes with quite a few more options and that the Proform 490 SPX is a nice, affordable upgrade to the original Proform 290SPX. 
So you are probably wondering why the Proform 590 SPX was not mentioned with the good news above. The problem is not with the design or with the features but with the price. The 590 SPX is currently priced at a full $500 above the next model down, the Proform 490 SPX Indoor Cycle and is the same price as the original Livestrong LS9.9IC which has more to offer.
Aside from the current pricing issue (perhaps this will change), the Proform 590 SPX offers everything that you get with the very popular Proform 290 SPX Spin Bike but goes on to include an electronic console (Polar® Wireless Chest Heart Rate Monitor Compatible), quiet belt drive system, 275lb weight capacity, horizontally adjustable handlebars and warranty upgrade.

New Proform Indoor Cycle Features and Comparisons
The new Proform 490 SPX and Proform 590 SPX are upgrades to the Proform 290 SPX. The upgrades include an electronic console (Polar® Wireless Chest Heart Rate Monitor Compatible), 275lb weight capacity and horizontally adjustable handlebars. The Proform 590 SPX then goes on to add the lower maintenance and quieter belt drive system.
The Proform 590 SPX Indoor Cycle is currently the top of the line traditional friction based Indoor Cycle offered by Proform and is similar to the Nordic Track GX5 Indoor Cycle (which is also manufactured by the manufacturer of Proform (Icon Fitness)).
About-Bicycles Review:
Although the electronic console with wireless heart rate monitor capability, quiet belt drive system and fully adjustable seat and handlebars are all excellent features, the problem with the Proform 590 SPX is that, other than the belt drive system, all of these features are available on the Proform 490 SPX for $500 less.
Now if you are looking for all of the Proform 590 SPX features including the belt drive system, you can find these on the original Livestrong LS9.9IC, which offers additional options for the exact same price.
The Proform 590 SPX offers a better warranty on the frame but the Livestrong model also comes with workout DVDs, a 290 user weight capacity and includes the donation to the Livestrong Foundation and the fight against cancer.
The Proform 590 SPX Sport Bike is an excellent indoor cycle, with all of the options that you need for a serious workout but it is priced a little high compared to other Indoor Cycles with most of the same features.
